OUR GHANA VOLUNTEER TRIP

Hello everyone!
I am doing this funding page because we need help!
Next year, Leslie and I are going to volunteer in Kumasi, Ghana. I will be there for a total of 5 weeks and Leslie for 2. During our time in Ghana, we will be working in a local hospital helping the staff care for the patients as It is underfunded and greatly understaffed. Whilst there we will really get to experience the poverty that we see on the TV and be able to help even if it is only for a short time. We will not only be in the hospital but also in an orphanage looking after the children, helping the ladies that care for them with cooking and cleaning as well as teaching the little ones! It is so important to us that we make this journey, the Ghanaians in this little area don’t have much but they all try and keep their positive outlook by singing, dancing and having fun. We want to be a part of that and make an impact on their lives, even if it is only little, as we’re sure they will make a huge impact on ours.

You may be wondering if we are volunteering what we need money for, this I am going to explain. We are travelling with a non profit organisation called Planmygapyear that organise thousands of volunteer journeys year round and worldwide. Their main priority is the safety of everyone! We must pay for our accommodation (organised by pmgy) our flights and our travel insurance. Therefore we need your help! Every little bit counts and we really feel we need to give back, so please help us help others who need it the most.

ps: if you have any toys/clothes etc you would like to donate I am planning on taking an extra suitcase to bring to the children so please give them to my mum.
