Our Fight Against Homelessness

Laronda is a mother of two who has recently relocated to Florida. The move along with the shift in the economy has taken a major toll on her finances.

Laronda needs help getting a new home for herself and her two children. Her son Robert hasn't seen her in over two years because Laronda doesn't have a place large enough for Robert to stay in. As a result Roberts grades are falling in school, he's having behavioral problems and his self esteem is low. Laronda has been living in hotels and with friends. She can't afford the cost of traveling back and forth to California to visit him. This situation is taking a toll on Robert and affecting his social skills. Laronda doesn't like asking anybody for anything, she is very independent and has always been a giver. However she realizes sometimes we all need a helping hand. She admits that she's not too proud to ask for help. She needs the funds right away to prevent Roberts situation from getting worse.

When Laronda gets the help that she needs she can spend time with her son and they can physically see and feel each other's love again. He can regain his confidence knowing that his mother hasn't abandoned him and that she truly loves him.
