I am so excited! After years of dreaming, I'm ready to act! Initially I have 2 very simple products I want to have manufactured; I didn't think it would be a big deal to get them made (they really are so simple). I was worried about the packaging and the shipping and how does it all come together, advertising, etc. I am still worried about that stuff but now that I have started to work on putting the plan in motion I found out about tooling. I don't know why it's so expensive but it is. I looked into having these items made in China, it seems like it would be easier and I'd have a little more profit but, I can't, I just can't. Cleveland is where they will be made. I will find a way, end of story. My belief and love of my town and this country isn't worth chasing the dollar.
There is still a lot of work to do before I can actually start production, like get the money for tooling! In addition to that there's all the things I mentioned above. It doesn't matter, I'm determined, I'm excited and I'm going to prove that you can start a successful small business in the U.S. Even if you're not from Cleveland, we are one country, let's support each other.
I appreciate any assistance you can offer to help us raise the money for the start-up costs that are out of our reach right now. In a year or two, when I have a successful and growing business, I'll pay it forward. I believe in karma. Thank you for your consideration.
The deadline of this campaign is my dad's birthday; he died at 61 in 2001. He sold welding rod to the local companies, he instilled in me the importance of keeping it "Made in America."
