Crisis Centre (Singapore) UEN: T18SS0008H is a newly set up society under the Registry of Societies. We aim to combat homelessness in Singapore by providing the homeless or people who are at risk of homelessness food and shelter. We will also be providing counselling and programs so that our residents could improve their circumstances and eventually return to society as a self-sufficient individual.
Having seen firsthand the homeless people who are sleeping and living on the streets of Singapore, the founders of Crisis Centre (Singapore) realised that homeless people in Singapore are not receiving the help and support that they need. There are many reasons why someone could end up homeless, from financial difficulties, mental illnesses, addictions and even being abandoned by their family.
As Crisis Centre is currently a society, we are unable to fundraise through other avenues that charities can. We are currently in the process of applying for our charity status but the homeless cannot wait. Crisis Centre is currently reaching out to the homeless through our group of just 5 volunteers. We purchase food and drinks for the homeless on a daily basis out from our own pockets. Having a location in which we could house these people would help tremendously as we could expand our reach and ensure that the homeless in Singapore are taken care of.
Crisis Centre (Singapore) would like to raise $50,000 in order to rent a residence in which we could house the homeless and provide shelter to them while tackling the core issue of their homelessness. We will still be continuing our community daily outreach to the homeless by providing food and drinks. I do sincerely hope that our fellow Singaporeans are able to support our cause. Every Donation takes us a step closer to our goal of helping the homeless. Thank you
