Studying abroad proportions all students to learn about another culture, grow personally as well as professionally and academically, meet new people from around the world, and expand your worldview. Plus you get to see the breath taking sites that our world has to offer. Who wouldn’t want to go to Italy and Greece? If you ask me, I want to go everywhere! Studying abroad is a learning opportunity in all aspects. To me anything is a learning opportunity, for the first lesson in learning is humility. Never underestimate anything because you can learn from anything, anyone, and everything. After all as someone once told me we are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master. This means that we should keep on learning because there’s is no such thing as knowing it all. Even though we might know a lot about a particular area or subject, we still remain students due to the fact that there are a million things that we do not know of that there is in the world. No one is born knowing so might as well we should learn to learn about anything we can. I go by a quote that says “Ancora Imparo” that was said by the famous Italian mastermind, Michelangelo. This quote is translated to “still I learn” because we always remain a student because there is always room for learning because our void is constantly being filled. As said by the French philosopher, Jean Paul Sartre, identity is not what it is and it is what it is not. Essentially this means that the self is in constant de-venir (becoming). We are never fully realized because the more you experience life, the more things you find out about yourself. As you can tell, I love humanities because it incorporates a lot of aspects of the arts including one of my favorite subjects which is philosophy. After all, knowledge is power they said and our world is worlds ahead if we perceive it that way! I would appreciate your help so inmensely.
