Campaign Story
Just like most single moms, maintaining a household is always a challenge. That challenge becomes even more of a mountain when said mom is laid off. So that is the story in a nutshell.. I was laid off from April-mid Oct. I was able to keep the rent paid until Aug when all the $$ ran out. Currently working (2) PT jobs is okay for current bills, but there is no way to put it towards the back rent. I am reaching out to county organizations as well (so far, I've been turned down by the county itself). Apparently, I am over their minimum threshold by $200 for current bills, but I can't get help to pay my back rent... (yes, feel the irony there). I am trying to raise funds to knock some of the back rent down, even if I don't raise all of it.
I have always held full time jobs, so this is the first time I have ever been in this position. Needless to say, I'm scared about seeing an eviction notice on the door. I can show my rental statement as proof that I am in fact very far behind.
Giving the time of year it is, I know it would take a miracle... but I also believe in miracles. All I want is to keep the roof over my son's head.
