What We're About
Established and founded in 2011, Hooks Baseball is a non-profit, amateur baseball organization. We are a competitive sports club made of individuals who are looking to continue their passion for America’s favorite past time, with all nationalities and ethnic backgrounds participating. We strive to bring enrichment to our community; providing free mentor programs to teach youth the fundamentals of baseball and the respect it takes to play team sports. We also organize used gear donation drives for kids who cannot afford the equipment to participate in youth baseball and perform field improvements on local parks which have been negelcted. Like most young athletes, we had ideas of playing professionally which were never fulfilled. However, we realized that it's the love of the game and the desire to keep playing that kept this dream alive, not a paycheck. We now have the opportunity to continue playing the game we love while inspiring youth athletes in our area to never let go of their dreams no matter what circumstances you're in. Regardless of the allure of professional sports, we all became professionals in another field and even with our smaller crowds, undulating fields, and tattered equipment; the love of our game will continue on!
Why do we need fundraising?
Since we are a non-profit organization, we rely solely on donations and fundraising each season. Our baseball season runs from April to October and our yearly mininum costs are $2,800. This includes our league and team fees of $2,500 and the cost of baseballs for the season at $300. We do need new equipment such as helmets, uniforms, hats, and our media costs for our team website, NorCalHooks.com however we are just asking for the bare mininum we need to play and anything over that would be a great blessing.
