Nickholis is a very special young man. He was born with a severe limbic cortex brainstem injury. He did not choose this. Nobody did anything wrong. This is just the hand he got dealt.
Nickholis has one desire in life - he wants to be a farmer. Unfortunately his development is slow due to his condition. Fortunately, there is the Brain Child Fund! With their unique therapy and intervention, he already exceeded all expectations the medical world had for him.
Nickholis lives on a farm near Oudtshoorn, a small town in the Western Cape in South Africa. For the best results, Nickholis must see a bunch of specialists in the USA every few years. He missed his 2018 trip due to financial pressures. The effect it has on his development path is devastating. He is scheduled to visit again in 2020. There is no way that we are going to let him miss this one again.
I heard about Nickholis through a good friend, Nicolai van der Merwe, who recruited me to share in this adventure. Nicolai also introduced me to Brain Child Fund as well as Brain Child Fund Adventures through whom we will be undertaking this initiative.
I am an adventurous philanthropist. I love doing adventures and I love to use those as opportunities to raise awareness and funds for causes close to my heart and close to the heart of a lot of people around the world. I was recruited by my riding buddy, Nicolai, to ride the longest Mountain Bike Stage Race in South Africa to raise awareness and funds for Nickholis and the Brain Child Fund. I need YOU to open your heart and your wallet for this young boy. The race takes place over 9 days and we will cover 900km! There are multiple ways you can choose to help. Lets make it fun and sponsor us per km. You can choose to make it 1c, 10c, R1, $1, or whatever currency you prefer! Please, help me to help Nickholis to get to the USA in 2020.
