Campaign Story
Let me tell you about myself. I'm 28 years old born and raised in Colombia but reside in the United States since 2009 I married an American who serves in the United States Air Force and unfortunately I been a victim of domestic violence. I never said anything because I was afraid of him and afraid of his threats of taking my son away who needs my constant assistant for basic living skills due to a near drowning accident that he suffered while in the care of my husband. One of the many situations I had with my husband was when he choked me until blood vessels were exploded in one of my eyes, he didn't let me go to the hospital but the next morning I asked someone that was giving respite care to my son and she took me to the hospital where I found out I had a brain tumor. I had my surgery to remove the Tumor on 01/04/16 ending with brain injury, I had to learn how to walk, how to eat, get dress, I lost peripheral vision and my perception of things and space makes me feel disorient on top of that I had my husband on the side verbally fighting me, cursing at me and my mother who has come from Colombia to help me out. I had to leave the house with my mother, my son and I'm staying at a friend's apartment. Right now I have police and medical's reports I've had talk with legal community agencies and organizations with no luck of finding an attorney probono that could take my case, and unfortunately I can't work due to the sides effects of my surgery this is why I'm asking from the bottom of my heart for help, help me! And my son! To move on to a new life2016 away from an abusive environment.
