New Generation 2022 Season

Mission Statement

The primary mission of the basketball program is to provide an environment of organized competitive basketball to those who may not typically receive the opportunity. We believe that all things come through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Christ’s blessings towards us, we wish to offer it forward as a blessing towards the community. Our areas of emphasis are team and community development, basketball skill development, life skills development, and overall character development. All of these areas of emphasis will be taught based on the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through this we hope to build future leaders of all neighborhoods of the city of San Francisco.

2022 Outlook

The New Generation basketball program is looking to build on a foundation that was rebuilt during the summer of 2021. Our program, which services solely San Francisco public school students, was the first look at organized basketball after a year where students where our students were unable to participate in indoor basketball, despite every other district and league in the state of California being able to resume play starting in April of 2021. Our students missed out on an entire year of basketball and had it not been for New Generation, it would have been longer. Because of this, our students went into the summer lacking experience and struggled to win games as expected. This experience garnered during the summer proved to be instrumental to our students though, as it paid immediate dividends as they returned to high school basketball. The experience played a crucial role in the on court success of many of the students. This includes multiple All League players, including two players who made First Team All League. Additionally, many of the players in our program were able to experience their first appearance in the California State Basketball Tournament. The 2022 edition of New Generation hopes to build on that newly formed foundation and contribute to the continued basketball success of our students.
