Need Help With Car Repairs and Bills

I've hit a really rough patch recently both emotionally and financially. I just lost my mom and my brother in January 2018 2 in the same week. I return to work only working 2-3 days a week. I was hit with a $950 price tag to fix my car. Since I can't afford that trying to keep the insurance and car note up to date. I have a friend who maybe able to fix it but I'll just have to buy the parts and hopefully pay back a few people who have given me rides or lent me money for uber rides to get me back and forth to work.
Some of my friends have suggested I do this. Any small amount will help me greatly.
