My Youth World Championship Barrel Racing Fund

Hi my name is katie i am 16 years old and a sophmore in high school. I am trying to fulfill one of my biggest dreams of being able to go to Perry Georgia to compete in one of the most amazing and memorable barrel races in the country that i have qualified to participate in, but because it is so hard for me and my family financially to be able to go i have never been to this amazing event. This is the National Barrel Horse association Youth World Championship, where kids from all over the world come to compete against one another in a week long event to see who is the best riders. It takes alot of dedication from both you and your horse to be in the top five of one of the four divisions by the end of your competition season to be invited to this event and not everyone gets to go. This has been a dream for me for many years, and i have qualified so many times to go and worked so very hard and shed alot of tears with ups and downs, and my horse never fails me he is truly my best friend and even though not every show is great we both give it are all. I have been riding horses sense i was four years old and it is truly my passion, i was eight when i won my first place buckle series of the year, and at the age of eleven i won my first fourth division championship saddle and then again a second division championship saddle. i have managed to qualify for this competition every year sense i was 8 but i have never been able to financially go, not from the lack of my family trying so hard to help me make it there because I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family, and my mom and dad are my biggest fans its because my family has suffered financially alot for the past couple years due to medical bills  from a stroke my mom had suffered and it hasnt been easy. The good things is my mom is doing well and doing as much as she and my dad can possibly do to help me as they always have.
