my wife deserves to get her PR award

My wife and I don't have much money, and when we go on vacation it's usually somewhere under one day's drive by car. I travel for my job frequently and am allowed to keep my miles for personal use. After years of saving up, I'm finally able to take my wife to a nice weeklong vacation to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

My wife works very hard in our local community helping out refugees from other countries that come here to the US seeking a better life and is finally getting the recognition she deserves. She recently was told that she is winning a major award for all of her efforts, but unfortunately the ceremony is while we are on our dream vacation. I'd like to be able to send her (not me) home for one day to accept her award and then come back to our vacation, but need help. My wife is the sweetest, most selfless, caring, best wife in the world. She is required to dress fancy and look her best everywhere she goes for her job, and on our meager budget, that isn't easy. Some of my friends' wives spend almost half their budget on fancy clothes for the wife, but my wife makes do with buying clothes only twice a year. We have to be very frugal.

If anyone deserves their moment in the sun, it's this sweet sweet young woman who works her tail off making our community a better place.
