Hello friends, this is my great-grandmother. She is 94 years old, and we both live in Cuba.

My great-grandmother suffers from natural deterioration due to age and diseases that started 20 years ago. Initially, they could be kept under control, but the disappearance of medications has greatly complicated her living conditions. She suffers from bipolar disorder, Parkinson's, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, atopic dermatitis, and capillary fragility. Additionally, she is disabled because ten years ago, she had an accident that required emergency hip surgery, leaving her walking with a walker. Currently, she cannot stand on her own and needs a wheelchair. She also has hypertension and is blind in one eye because , during an eye operation, the lens had to be removed due to high blood pressure, and it couldn't be replaced. Despite this serious medical condition, she remains psychologically active and strong compared to others her age.

At the moment, she lives with her 79-year-old daughter. Due to my constant workload, I cannot be there to attend to them all the time, and they have no one else to help. With the money raised, I could pay for the medicines she needs for her treatments, as well as the necessary supplies to make their lives easier and more comfortable at such an advanced age. Currently, without medicines at home, we are resorting to the use of medicinal plants, but it is not enough to alleviate her condition.

She recently fell, face-first and broke her eyebrow. We had to rush her to the hospital and stitch the wound. She lost blood, and the impact has left her very frightened. She is currently in recovery, but we don't have enough medication to help her.

Due to the disastrous political and economic situation we are experiencing, it is almost impossible to find the medicines she needs. The embargo prevents the entry of necessary medications to stock the stores, forcing us to buy them on the black market, where they can be found but at double or triple the price. My salary as a government worker is not enough to provide both of us with a dignified life, so I have three additional jobs and some freelance work.

Any donation made will be used to obtain the medicines for her recovery and to address the illnesses affecting her, as well as to hire a nurse who can assist both of them in their daily lives.

Thank you so much for your kindness, God Bless you.

One of our donors managed to send a small package of medicines with a friend that was returning to Havana from Spain. Inside the package was a small bottle of zinc and calamine lotion as well as a glucometer and medicines that you cannot even find in the Cuban black
