My friend from Botswana needs our support!

I need your support to help make a difference for a special friend in Botswana. My friend is a pilot who luckily survived a plane crash last November and needs help to repair his plane. Flying and owning his own plane has always been a huge dream of his, not to mention the usefulness of it within his line of work. His life has been spent among the wilds of Botswana, guiding numerous tourists on adventure filled safaris before branching more into wildlife filmmaking.

As all of you know, I have a special connection to South Africa and this is why I have a special request to ALL my friends!

My friend Alistair luckily survived his airplane crash last year in November but his "lady in red", a vintage Piper aircraft from 1949 still needs to be fixed. Although she was insured, the assessor confirmed to him what he feared the most: she was beyond economic repair. This, to summarize, has left Alistair in the position where the settlement could not cover the costs of a rebuild.

And this is where we come into play: Let us do something great together, let's help him to get this iconic little aeroplane back in the clouds.

(this is the fundraiser from Dec-Jan 2021, they´ve managed to raise 3,090 pounds but the truth is, we expect to need $12,000 more to save her and bring her back into the sky.)

A few weeks ago "the red lady" was loaded onto a trailer and driven down to South Africa, by a remarkable woman called Tracy who will be carrying out the necessary repairs. She has a rich and long standing history in aviation, and the plane really could not be in safer, more knowledgeable hands!

It won't be a quick fix as there is a lot to get through as well as high expense repair costs on engine and fuselage due to the high impact crash, but there are many talented hands wanting to be a part of this rare project rebuild.
