If you had told me 10 years ago that I would be a youth pastor and doing God’s work, I would have laughed at you. If you had said I would be pushing to be on the forefront of bringing Young Adults and Youth back to Jesus, I would have shaken my head and smirked. God has an amazing sense of humour and here I am. I am currently reading “Deep and Wide” by Andy Stanley and loving it, so when a colleague told me about the Drive Conference at his Church, I prayed about it and asked God to open the door for me if I was supposed to go. He has opened all of them so now comes the raising of the funds to get there.
I truly believe that this conference will be so beneficial to my ministries. To actually join and see how North Point have built and runtheir ministries will give me more knowledge and guidance to assist with the growth of the young adults and youth ministries this side. The funds raised will be used to pay for my ticket, as well as my flight. I am looking at hopefully getting hosted that side and relying on a couple of friends I have in the States to help me out, but the fund is to get me there safe and sound. The Conference is in May and tickets went on early bird sale today, so I am starting fundraising as soon as possible to get everything organised. I love my job and I love working with Youth and children:I genuinely with a smile on my face feel excitement every day I get up and I want to be the best I can be for the Calling I have been charged with. I want to help the youth in South Africa grow spiritually and I will push for every tool I can add to get me to be the best I can be. IfI can raise these funds and come back and reach just one more person than before I left, the effort is worth it. Every book I read and every Youtube video is of people telling me finance is not an excuse;I should have faith if I am sure something is right. I will never be able to repay the people who step forward for this cause but they will forever have my eternal thanks more than words can explain.
