My Dream!

Please help fund my DREAM of becoming a scuba diving instructor!

Living the life you want shouldn't be reserved for the rich!  

A bit about me:

Hey everyone! My name is Angharad, but people call me Ang, I'm 26 years old and I'm a qualified PADI divemaster :D Something I never thought I would say! I think most people who meet me would say I'm obsessed with diving, it's all I think about and talk about and dream about!  

My Story: I've never been sure of what I wanted to do with my life, I've always felt very lost. When I started diving I found a passion for life I didn't know I could have. I had a dream of becoming a professional diver! Lots of people told me I was crazy, that I couldn't live my life like that, that it wasn't a proper job! But this summer I completed my divemaster qualification in Gozo, Malta. It was a tough time, the only way for me to afford it was to work for free as a trainee divemaster on dives and in the shop 10 hours a day before doing 6 hour shifts at a restaurant in the evening just to pay my rent. I was knackered all the time but I didn't care because I was beginning to live my dream! Even when I broke my foot walking back from a dive and couldn't work in the restaurant anymore, I still stayed, determined to finish my divemaster (even when I couldn't afford to eat) I found a passion and love for a job I never thought I would have. I finally found something I was good at! I decided I wanted to become a diving instructor! To continue to share my love of the ocean with more people. But I always knew the money would be an issue...  

The Dream: Unfortunately the course and all the materials for it are extremely expensive! I moved back home, (my mum would love to be able to help me out but she barely makes ends meet as it is) I'm working as many hours they can give me at my job and trying to save every penny but I could do with a little bit of help. I think it's a shame that diving is so expensive, it should be something that is available to anyone, from any background and means. It's so important for people to learn about our planet of which so much is covered in water!! If I were to become a Scuba Diving instructor, I would work so hard to promote marine conservation to teach people about our world under the waves, introduce new divers to the plight of so many endagered marine animals that need our protection and to a magical world very few get to see!  

Finally: I understand that there are many important issues out there and I'm not asking for much, every penny counts as they say!
