My Adventures in Surgical Education

Hello! I want to thank you for taking a moment to read my bio. I am a hard working and dedicated single mother of two charismatic and exuberant daughters ages 4 and 11. I am a Licensed Medical Aesthetician and a Regulatory Compliance Manager. It has been my goal for the last two years to attend school in order to receive my associate's degree in Surgical Technology that would then allow me to pursue my certification as a Surgical First Assistant. I aspire to work in the operating room. My goal would be to assist in plastic surgery, Mohs surgery, orthopedics or a burn center-I would LOVE to work with the folks at Vanderbilt Burn Center!! With my background in aesthetics, all of this methods fascinate me! I have examined every opportunity for me to enroll and attend school as  single mother working two jobs and unfortunately I do not qualify for financial aid or any grants so I am seeking the help of a fundraiser that allows my story to be seen by others. With your donation, you will not only change my life and career pather but the life of my children. I have already returned to school once as an adult to receive my license as a Medical Aesthetician and I want to further my education in the medical field where I know I will grow and develope my skillset and eagerness for the surgical setting. I have taught and will continue to teach my children that education is a fundamental for a healthy and happy life. Amongst many others of course. I aim to be their brightest example of this teaching. By going back to school to first become a Surgical Technologist and then a Surgical First Assist, my children will see that education is a priority and that hard work, determination and creative thinking are essentials in getting where you want in your personal and professional life!
