Movember

The Coastal Fitness Community is helping to raise funds and awareness for two of our members, Alex Swan and Claudia Leung in their quest to support their parents as they battle Ovarian and Prostate Cancer.

At the end of the month, we will be evenly splitting the all funds raised between Alex and Claudia.

Alex Swan's mother was diagnosed with stage-4 ovarian cancer two and a half years ago. During that time, she has benefitted massively from the trials, studies and research that have produced treatments that help suppress the disease. Alex has taken on the challenge of cycling the equivalent of Mount Everest, a total of 8,848m/29 029ft elevation on the 14th of November to help raise both funds and awareness.

Claudia's father was diagnosed with late stage prostate cancer in 2015, which is the 4th highest cancer that leads to death for men in HK. Over the past 4 years, Claudia's mission has been to raise awareness and funds to support her fathers cancer research and treatment, raising a total of $153,310 to date.

This year Claudia will personally be rowing 360km to pay tribute to the 360,000 men that lost their lives to prostate cancer last year.

In our efforts to support these two legends, Ed Haynes, Ant Haynes, Saed Alami, Ben Cullen and Jason Davidson will be trying their best to grow a moustache over the month of November. To support, the Coastal Community aims to row 600,000m on a C2 rower over the month!
