Thank you to all the donations! We have achieved the £5000 mark due the generosity of each one of you! We also had one large local donation that has helped achieve our target quickly. To up date you, I visited the orphanage on 7th July 2016. Saalim confirmed that the water from the borehole is being pumped up by a generator that requires petrol. The water irrigates the plants on his plot that feeds the children and is used for washing clothes and cleaning but is not safe for drinking. There is a supply of fresh drinking water to the orphanage now but they are being charged for this service.
Your money is being used for installing solar panels which will power the water pump and provide some lighting plus a water purifcation system that can supply the children drinking water. So it will save the orphange costs of purchasing petrol and water.
Shortly, the orphange will become self-sufficient. It has a good supply of vegetables ranging from maize, aubergines, onions, okra, tomatoes etc, livestock poultry, chicken, goats. The land is attended to by Saalim and not the children who he emphasises should study and play. The voluntary teachers have received books and stationery to enable them to teach their students. I also took with me items for the children to play with, football, cricket set, badminton, skipping rope, frizby, animal snap cards etc. they were previously playing with a ball they made of plastic bags.
Thank you for your continued support. I pray that you are rewarded for your kind actions.
