🐾 A Purr for Help

Mochi, our beloved feline friend, has been a beacon of strength through her battle with a severe ear condition. Rescued as an ex-breeder by TAILS Lantau, I fostered and quickly grew fond of her and adopted her. She brought a lot of joy and endless purring into our our lives. However, concern grew when Mochi developed symptoms that led us down a path of many repeated vet visits and treatments.

🔍 An Urgent Discover

It was on January 16th that the urgency of Mochi's condition became undeniable. During a consultation at Four Paws clinic, they discovered a polyp and stressed the need for immediate specialist care for Mochi's ear infection. Despite their efforts to refer us to other clinics, none had availability within the weeks. This led us to the highly specialized clinic, VSH. I booked a consultation for January 22nd, and upon examination, the specialists at VSH confirmed the critical nature of Mochi's condition, insisting on immediate surgery. But the cost of surgery and hospitalization far exceeded the estimate a veterinary friend had given me:

95.000HKD for surgery and hosptal stays. Not including revisits for check up and further medication.

Despite the financial strain, I was committed to fulfilling my promise to Mochi, no matter the cost, and decided to proceed with the vital surgery at this esteemed clinic.

🏥 A Plea for Your Generosity

I am now reaching out for your support. The surgery and subsequent care have resulted in substantial costs. To add to the challenge, the insurance I obtained just days after Mochi became part of our family, has has declined to cover anything. I am currently appealing this decision and am awaiting a response. I will provide updates as soon as a decision is made.

As a young designer in Hong Kong, the financial impact was more than I could bear alone. I am grateful for the support of friends and family who stepped in to help, without whom I would have faced the daunting prospect of bank loans. While I do not expect to cover all the expenses, as it was my decision to proceed with the surgery and to welcome Mochi into my life, any amount that can ease this financial burden would be deeply appreciated.
