Campaign Story
Dearest family and friends,
I was recently diagnosed with a painful condition called Diffuse Alveolar Hemorrhage. In the past two months, I have been in the ICU in three different hospitals and have been told more than a few times that my heart was going to stop beating. Basically, my medical condition makes me a ticking time bomb where a slight infection will cause my lungs to start bleeding internally and eventually deplete my oxygen levels and cause my lungs or heart to collapse. It is a life threatening disease and for someone who has been in and out of the hospital for the past few years, this is still a shock to me and I am still coming to terms with it.
But whatever it may be, I am not here to share my sob story. Everyone has problems and it is what we do with them that matters. This has been a very difficult time for my family, without whom I never would be able to even start the recovery process. Many of you know that my dad passed away seven years ago and my sister has been the sole breadwinner for the family. I am unable to work as of now and am on a very long unpaid leave to gain as much strength as possible. So what we need is financial help. My family and I will be involved in creating home-made goodies and hand-made crafts for special occasions. And all we need is your support in sharing, liking and purchasing the products which will be advertised on our FB/Instagram pages (Kuirkyyy). As Singaporeans, care and concern comes easy to us and I hope I can tap into that humane nature to fund my recovery process which is going to be tedious and painful. But I am ready for it. I am going to fight till the end and no bleeding in the lungs is going to stop me from being the better person that I can be. I have always been a fighter and the strength that I have been finding through the support from family and strangers alike has been astounding.
Help me share the page and spread the word and do visit our Etsy page to purchase existing products. A little does go a long way. Meanwhile, I will be starting a crowdfunding campaign for my medical expenses and I promise to donate 30% of what little comes my way to significant beneficiaries because there is always someone who needs the help more than me. I hope my efforts are recognised and my will to live motivates you to support me.
With much love, Kanages

Have heard from a Friend that Kanages is in a better place now. Although I was only vaguely acquainted with her, I always had the impression that she is a cheerful person with a big heart. Her positivity and will to live reminds me of Viktor E Frankl's book, Man's Search for Meaning: one always has the choice to control his/her attitude in the face of suffering. Such mastery is one of the highest attainments in life. The way she had chose to live out her life despite her condition is most certainly an inspiration for me. Best regards.
