Campaign Story
Finding Misty was a miracle. My brother was looking at an empty house for sale when my nephews discovered a kitten hanging by an arm caught on a picket of aa deck. Mom must have been trying to free her as her paw was missing and the bone exposed. She was very near death. We began giving her water and I brought her home thinking she would not survive the night. When she did and maggots were seen on the injured area I took her to the local emergency vet hospital.
The care estimate was $2900 to $4000, shocking to someone on a limited retiree budget but I felt it was a moral obligation to give her a chance. After two days of fluids and antibiotics as well as meds to remove the large number of maggots, the kittens arm was removed. Luckily it was slightly over $2900. She is continuing to heal and is amazing!
Should I receive funds in excess of my goal, I intend to use towards TNR (trap, neuter) several stray, feral cats in the area.
