MINANA: A CREATIVES SOCIAL NETWORK & MARKETPLACE

About This Project

This is a social network and marketplace for people to be able to advertise (showcase), connect and also sell their skills and talents.

People connect with other people of similar industry, advertise themselves to the world, sell their products or services and also find sponsors or investors to uplift them. They can use texts, images, audio, pdfs and videos. It shall start off as a minimum viable project and will grow as more people use it.

The social network accommodates small to large groups (even school, religious art or sports clubs), people beginning and those already in field, entrepreneurs, graphic designers, software developers, models, singers, actors, footballers, karatekas, writers, poets, crafts people, designers, dancers, people in sports, etc. General people can follow, like or join their network and interact with them heart to heart. Those who are interested can send a message to them.

I am a Graphic Designer and Digital Marketer. I grew up under a poor background and would like to make an impact in my generation and especially since I am from Africa I want Africa to shine through me as well. I am not a coder but would like to develop a social network that will benefit every user. Every user can make a living out of this social network as he or she uses it. Since I am not a coder I would like to hire a developer and that is the reason why I need to raise funds. I also would like to use the funds for marketing purpose as well.

The Purpose of this Social Network (Benefits)

i. Creatives- Connect people or certain groups with skills, talents and profession with their clients, employers or interested parties so one can advertise his skill or talent to people who want to hire, employ or support him/her.

ii. Give a platform for Creatives to become freelancers or micro- job workers access to sell their services or skills to potential clients and be paid for the work they will have done, for example, a graphic designer can design a logo for someone on the platform and get paid in real time when he finishes the design.

iii. Investment- Creatives to specifically find or be found by investors or sponsors (This option is available on paid subscription only)

Our payment gateway will provide the capability to escrow funds when the two parties enter into a binding contract to carry out the task and release the funds on the completion of the task confirmed by both parties. We take 10% of all the transactions that happen on the social network.

Vision Of The Social Network

To create a social network where people who are starting from scratch can have a platform to show and expose themselves to the world in a more direct and niche way with the hope of getting opportunities that can lift up their skills or talents. A social network and marketplace where they will also be able to create employment for themselves as they will, apart from exposing what they can do, have a platform to sell their skills to people who can hire them as well as sell their products.

Purpose of the Funding.

1. Hire a Development company for the Web App, Android and iOS.

2. Cloud Hosting with Unlimited disk space.

3. Marketing Campaign through Newspapers, TV, Videos and Flyers Facebook promotion and other related promotion.

4. I shall need to work with two or three people to help me manage and run the platform. Obviously as it grows I shall employ people both for technical purpose and administration as this is going to be a major educational platform.

End Goal

I would like to use much of the profits that shall come from running this social network to fund a charity foundation I want to start which is towards development of community skills and talents.

Risks and Challenges

1. The project is still in concept and idea so I need to get it on development stage by hiring a seasoned development company. However I did Idea Validation and I got 77% thumbs up from most of the people I came across.
2. I also have big competitors like Facebook and Linkedin in particular as this will be dubbed the Linkedin for creatives.
3. This is my first major project so I will need to be around great professional who can also give me guidance. Please give me a shout on this if you can.
4. I am coming from Africa where Technology is still young so I really people who can also help in marketing so it goes worldwide.
