Milo the Sausage Dog’s Operation

Hello!

My name is Milo and I am a Miniature Dachshund (a sausage dog!).  I am 2 years old and 3 weeks ago my mum and dad took me into the vets as there was blood in my wee.  The vets gave me antibiotics which did not work :(

They then did X-rays and scans which showed I had stones in my bladder.  I had an operation to cut open my tummy/bladder and remove the stones.  As I have a problem with my bladder when I was only a puppy (couple of months old), my insurance will not cover any pre-existing conditions. My life saving operation I had my operation on Saturday 21st February 2015.  I had a check up on Tuesday 24th February 2015. My mum told the nurse my tummy was sore and swollen but the nurse said it was from the operation.  20 hours later, I was sick, confused, crying in pain and I eventually lost consciousness.  My mum rushed me to the vets and they sedated me with lots of pain relief, oxygen and fluids. They did another scan which shows I have a very rare condition where my kidneys do not work as well as they should.  The vets told my mum and dad that I went into shock and unless my temperature came up and pain was under control it was too risky to operate and to be prepared I may die.

Needing help Luckily I pulled through the operation which was last night (Wednesday 25th February 2015) and I am on the mend.  However my mum is 4 months pregnant and my mum and dad spent their baby savings (£1,000) on my first operation!  They said they do not mind :) but now they are faced with the second vet bill.  I am still recovering in Vets4Pets Barnsley but my parents have to get as much money together to try and get me home.  I will also be on a special diet of £40 per bag of dog food and tablets for the rest of my life. My mum and dad both work although they don't earn much as they are on minimum wage.  They have offered to pay weekly but the vets are asking for the total bill as soon as possible and so I am appealing for help, anything you can do to help would be much appreciated.
