SINOPSES

Based on the comic book Mikrokosmos (by Brazilian artist Thiago Souto), this sci-fi short film tells the story of Sirius, a lonely astronaut on an exploration trip, that ends up becoming a journey into the past. Haunted by memories of his troubled relationship with Nina, his mother and piano teacher, he finds himself in a mental labyrinth, in which his present and his past become one.

WHO AM I?

I'm Giulia Nascimento, a Brazilian film and communications student, currently in my Junior year. I live in São Paulo (Brazil), where I also go to college. This is the fifth short film that I'm directing (you can check my portfolio here: https://vimeo.com/403740662) and I'm really excited to be able to share this story that I've been obsessing over for the past two years.

CREW STATEMENT

We are eight Brazilian film students from the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation, and this is our Junior theses project. We really believe that this film can add to the discussion about how society expects their youth to become someone that they, sometimes, don't want to become, and how this pressure turns children into adults with anxiety.

WHAT DO WE NEED THE MONEY FOR

- To pay the actors

- For food and transportation

- To build a spaceship

- To buy/rent props and costumes

- To pay for the practical visual effects

- For the post-production

- To distribute the film in film festivals
