To our Meraki / Cafe Furlough / All Things Good & Blos Bakery Friends & Family
There is no easy way of saying this: WE NEED YOUR HELP
A donation as small as the price of a coffee, a slice of cake or your favourite meal at our cafe - can save us and our staff right now.
We've had an immensely difficult few weeks since the outbreak of the corona-virus and everything that has followed ever since #lockdown.
It certainly feels surreal to put this into words, but here I go…
The cafes and bakery, built up over almost 8 years of extremely hard work, ups and downs, tears, joyful moments, grit and perseverance - ARE ON THEIR KNEES. And so are my staff too. 42 of them to be exact. And 42 families that are entirely dependent on their salaries / tips to provide for their children and households.
I KNOW WE ARE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE SUFFERING - and that there is people with very dire situations (hunger and poverty), far worse than ours. My heart goes out to every other fellow business owner and employee that is also trying to deal with the devastating effect of #lockdown and COVID-19.
We are entirely dependent on our daily trade to make it through every month - and literally EVERY SINGLE DAY’s sales mattered to us.
YES - we have applied for TERS/SAFT business support/relief - but we have had no success / response thus far.
I have been partaking in supporting our Stellenbosch commuity over the past few weeks (in my personal capacity) - the contribution attributed to feeding almost 200 families for a whole week! And I’ve been reaching out to my own staff in the form of offering food parcels and continuously checking in on them to see if they are okay.
But now “Pay Day” is coming up soon - and our staff is desperately looking at me, as their leader, to find a way for us through this.
At the moment we are uncertain if we’d be able to even open up the doors for business again.
If we can not re-open the cafés 40+ staff members will lose their jobs and their livelihood.
My plea to you: if you have fond memories of time spent at any of my cafes, engaging with your favourite barista or waiter, or simply miss enjoying our delicious food, coffee, cakes, treats - and you have the means to support us right now - we would like to ask/encourage you to please make a donation to our CAFE + STAFF FUND - to assist with paying unavoidable overhead expenses to keep both the businesses and our staff afloat.
I will do everything I possibly can to fight for the livelihood and jobs of my staff!!! Without them (and our amazing customers) we would never have been able to come this far!
Once this nightmare is over - we stand in faith that we will overcome this - we will yet again serve our community with LOVE & PASSION, as ALWAYS!!!

It’s small but every bit counts. Thank you so much for being the best student pit stop there is and will be.

My friends and I were so blessed with your businesses as students and visited, probably, once or twice a day haha. We loved everything about Meraki and All Things Good, especially the servers and the iced lattes. We made so many wonderful memories and I hope this will contribute in a small way to helping at least one of our beloved waiters.
I hope you raise all of the money , Good luck and god bless
