Hello!

We are a group of 6 high school students from Clarkson Secondary High School in Misssissauga, Ontario, Canada and we have a vision!

The topic we are addressing is Mental Health. We are trying to promote physical activity and advertise its benefits of relieving stress and improving critical thinking skills which can lead to better grades at school and an overall better quality of life. Our aim is to provide an accessible and enjoyable means for students to get good quality exercise time each day, in hopes it will help diminish mental illness and encourage a healthier lifestyle.

During the week of May 9th to May 13th, we will have activities such as Zumba, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, Octopus and sports such Dodgeball, Volleyball. etc running during the lunch break which any student in the school can sign up for and get active to help relive their stressful lives. To make the week more popular, at the end of the week a draw will be held. Tickets will be given out if we are able to get some funding. We also plan on pitching some money within our group to buy a Raptors jersey or tickets to different sporting events. We hope to use the funds raised to buy some of these things required to make our week successful.

Students will get one entry if they attend 2 of the 4 activities done and 2 entries if they attend all 4. We are also planning to bring Furious Pete in to talk about Mental Health since he dealt with mental health issues as a teen.

With your help, we plan to advocate, encourage and promote mental health awarness through physical activity.
