My name is Sagar Patel and I am from Louisiana, USA. I am a current freshman at the Roger Ogden Honors College, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I am majoring in Kinesiology on the Pre-Medicine track.

ABOUT VOLUNTEERING PROGRAM:

Through "International Volunteer HQ," I have discovered the Medical Volunteer trip to Lima, Peru. I knew I wanted to volunteer and specifically pursue a medical volunteering program. And so after researching affordable, safe, and distinguished volunteering companies, I found International Volunteer HQ. The Lima destination is the most affordable ones provided. :
Here is a description of the Medical volunteering program in Lima from the International Volunteer HQ website:

"Many people in Peru live in poverty, which makes access to healthcare and other basic services difficult. However, daily medical campaigns aim to widen the reach of public health in Lima, and volunteers play an important role in making that happen. Volunteers can work in local schools helping with children’s health evaluations, health prevention talks, basic preventive health checkups in local markets and supporting local government health campaigns.

If you’re someone who has an interest in international healthcare systems in vulnerable communities, this project is a great choice for you. Volunteers can expect to carry out tasks such as taking vitals; heart rate, blood pressure, glucose levels, weight, height, IBM, fluor application and working in health-related workshops."
