Medical Help for Tiaan

After not being on a medical aid for a while we finally managed to go onto medical aid in June 2021. My husband who was also our sole breadwinner got Covid on the 26th June and was admitted to hospital. He unfortunately past away on 15 July 2021.

At the end of August I discovered a lump in my breast, I went for test and got a treatment plan in place. Unfortunately my medical aid does not cover this at all so this had to be put on the back burner.

On the 11th of September 2021 my son Tiaan (15) had a episode and landed in the emergency room. After 4 hours of tests they found a tumor in his brain. After a few weeks of testing it was found that it is a malignant tumor and that the type of tumor is quite rare and quite aggressive. We started treatment on the 4th of November 2021. His treatment plan is quite intensive. With only going onto medical aid in the meddle of the year we only get half of the medical allocation for the year. Also the plan that we selected at the time is a select plan which means not all hospitals/doctors are covered on our plan. This results in 20-30% co payments at time. There is also still some hospital bills outstanding from my husband's hospitalization which I only found out two weeks ago.
