Campaign Story
Zandile is in urgent need of a hysterectomy which was refused by Public Health. She has a fibroid tumour in her uterus which has grown to over 20cm. After a year of visits to Northdale Hospital for tests and consultations, she was sent home with Panado and the comments on her file were "In view of age patient not for surgery at this stage". (She is 46!)
After assessing the scans done in a private hospital, doctors and gynaecoligists have said she is in dire need of a hysterectomy. All the necessary tests and DD&C have been done, but the state hospital will not admit her for an operation. The procedure in a private hospital will cost R60 000.
Your contribution will help Zandile live a pain free life.
