Medical Expenses for Jo Anne Jones

Our mother Jo Anne Jones has been in the hospital since December 15th. She originally went in for shortness of breath which turned into Congestive Heart Failure. The doctor's in Waco sent her by helicopter to St. Luke's hospital in Houston because of the experience of the heart surgeons at that hospital.

She has since had a triple bypass, Mitro valve replacement, a pacemaker procedure, another unexpected surgery to relieve fluid from around her heart, and most recently a trach has been put in because she cannot breath on her own.

She has private insurance....but they are not willing to cover her transfer back to the Fort Worth area. That is an estimated $1400 up front that we have to have within 48 hours of a transfer approval. She has to be transferred by ambulance since she is still on a ventilator.

At this point...she is depressed and not wanting to even participate in rehab because she is all alone down in Houston in the hospital.

We all live here in the Fort Worth area and think that if we get her moved here then we can convince her to participate in rehab which could possibly help her overall health and get her lungs working on their own again.

She has an apartment, car, bills etc... That we are trying to cover as well while she recovers.

 After over a month in the ICU and a helicopter ride...I am sure we will be seeing medical bills soon that her insurance has denied. We are appreciative of any help at this time.
