Misfortunes often comes in threes; however, for Heather Jones Prutzman and John Prutzman it has come much harder. On June 21, 2017, she/they lost her mom to cancer after a long battle. Four months later on October 17, 2017, her only son, Joey, was killed in a car accident. Tragedy struck again five months later on March 4, 2018, when her older brother, Daniel "Danny" Jones, died suddenly and unexpectedly. Also during this nine month span of time, Heather lost her beloved horse, Rolex. On June 7, 2018, she received yet another blow as she was diagnosed with a rare type of multiple myeloma cancer. Aggressive therapy was started in the hopes of her going into remissions as there is no cure for this disease. Her treatment options include a stem cell transplant and possibly a bone marrow transplant. As with all cancer treatments, the side effects are harsh. As recently as last week she was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Since the death of her son in October of 2017, Heather has been unable to work. Her loving and devoted husband is a truck driver and works hard to provide for the family. With all this tragedy her husband john has not been able to be by heathers side due to him needing to work. Over the past year of these tragedies John has only taken off work 2-5 days. He has not been able to grieve as well as heather due to tragedy after tragedy. As the medical bills pile up, it is my hope that this gofundme page will help alleviate some of the monetary stress for this family. When Heather is able to receive her transplants, her husband will be required to stay with her; therefore, there will be no income. Even the smallest amount can be beneficial in giving them peace of mind.
