Update: We now need help with Merlin, Shadow, Blaster, and Cholo! Merlin, Shadow, and Blaster all have terrible skin issues and are rapidly losing more and more fur. To make matters worse, it is winter and temps are only going to continue to drop. Now is the worst time for an outside dog to be losing fur. Poor Cholo has a severe ear infection. These multiple vet bills have hit us very hard and are adding up all too quickly.
C.H.A.I.N.E.D. Inc. enhances the lives of 24/7 chained dogs in Southwest Detroit and Downriver. The majority of their owners are low income and struggle on a daily basis. Often times, these dogs are at a higher risk of injury from loose dog attacks, harm from humans/passerby, injury from objects in messy yards, digestion of foreign objects, mange, parvirus, and more. Not only do most of these emergencies require surgery, but they are also expensive vet bills. Vet Bills top the list as one of our biggest expenses, even with discounted rescue prices. We struggle to afford these expenses for our currently enrolled program dogs and hate to turn a dog down. Our fence project dog Coco has just been attacked through the fence by a loose dog who started a fence fight with her. The dog was able to put a puncture wound in Coco's lip, grab her leg and rip open a big chunk of skin exposing her tendons, and a few other wounds as well. Her leg has required immediate surgery. Please consider donating to the medical care of Coco and future dogs who may need assistance so they can get the medical help they need as well. Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated and can be the difference of life and death for our program dogs that are susceptible to these emergency dangers. Thank you.
