Campaign Story
Hello All and Thank You for reviewing my campaign.
My Husband, Alvino, is a USN Disabled Veteran. He was diagnosed with Frontal Lobe Epilepsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, and Arthritis (hands and knees) from service-related causes. We are wanting to relocate back to Southern Florida, from which we came 3.5 years ago. We moved to MO in 2015 to help, or so we thought, my family. Unfortunately, it has left us depleted mentally, emotionally, and financially. Where we have adequate funds to handle our day to day lives (we are not on any assistance) due to our abilities to retain gainful employment and my Husband's partial VA Disability payment, we are unable to pull together any real money to get back to where we feel we belong - Florida. We are making the best of this area and appreciate what we have, however, we are looking forward to getting back to a warmer climate to reduce the effects the Midwest winters are having on my Husband, Alvino.
Our ability to relocate would enable us to live closer to my Mother-in-Law and Brother-in-Law. Also, relocating will enable us to live closer to VA Hospitals. Currently, our minimum drive time for any appointments he has is 2 hours...to Columbia from Lebanon, MO. Heaven help he has an emergency with the current requirements, treatments, and conditions civilian hospitals near us are offering Veterans. It has turned into another stress-point for us to manage mounting medical bills from such service, as they are rejecting billing the VA Healthcare System. Again, I sincerely appreciate your time and consideration and wish you well with whatever you may be facing yourself.
Thank You,
Nina
