Medical Aid for Zambia

Hello all, my name is Brandon and I am currently a first year medical student at St. Georges University School of Medicine pursuing my dream of becoming a physician. With the encouragement of my friends and family, I am able to reach for my personal and professional goals which I am deeply grateful for.

With this gratitude comes a deep desire to give back to communities in need with the skills and knowledge I have gained in the last few years of learning and practicing medicine. I now have the opportunity to do just that, in Zambia, Africa! I have been accepted to work with International Volunteering Headquarters (IVHQ) this summer - an organization based in New Zealand that works to promote the importance of making a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate.

I will be traveling to Zambia to take part in IVHQ’s Medical Project as a Medical Student Volunteer and will be working alongside a Medical Team to assist in providing healthcare in low income communities to those who cannot afford it, cannot access it, or both. The program is open to volunteers who are student nurses, medical students, and fully qualified doctors and nurses.

IVHQ works to make volunteering abroad as affordable as possible, however, there are still significant expenses such as flights, vaccinations, program fees, registration fees, in-country transportation, Visas etc., that I am not able to fund on my own. Any amount of sponsorship will help to reach the goal and would be greatly appreciated! In sponsoring this mission, you will be a part of providing medical services to people in need and make an immeasurable difference in someone's life. I aim to provide real time updates during the trip as well as photos of people who have been helped by your generosity.
