Medical Aid For Zambia

Hello, my name is Chris and I am currently a first year medical student at St. George’s University School of Medicine pursuing my goal of becoming a physician. With the encouragement of my friends and family, I am fortunate enough to be able to work toward this goal at a great school in a beautiful country.

With deep gratitude for my current situation comes a deep desire to give back to communities in need with the skills and knowledge I have gained in the last few years of learning and practicing medicine. In researching ways to be more of service I applied and have been accepted to work with International Volunteering Headquarters (IVHQ), an organization based in New Zealand that works to promote the importance of making a positive impact in the lives of those less fortunate.

I will be traveling to Zambia, Africa this summer to take part in IVHQ’s Medical Project as a Medical Student Volunteer and will be working with a qualified team in providing healthcare in low income communities to those who cannot afford it, cannot access it, or both. The program is open to student nurses and medical students, as well as certificated doctors and nurses.

IVHQ aims to make volunteering abroad as affordable as possible, however, there are still significant expenses such as flights, vaccinations, program fees, registration fees, in-country transportation, visas etc., that I am not able to fund on my own at this time as a student. Any amount of sponsorship will help to reach the goal and would be greatly appreciated! In sponsoring this mission, you will be a part of providing medical services to people in need and changing lives for the better.
