Maya has been with me for the past 8 years, previous owner gave her up because he couldnt take care of her anymore. I took her in and she instantly became part of my family. At that time I had a steady job and did the best I could to spoil her until due to the lost of my pregnancy I went into deep depression and got laid off two years almost three years ago. I havent been able to afford a visit to the her vet for the past year and half . We’ve been surviving together, giving her up has never been an option, I can’t have kids, Maya is my child and I will have her with me until the very end so we’ve been doing the best we can to make the best out of this situation. Though it hasnt been easy for us, there has been times where I cant afford dog food so we share a meal. And its not that I havent been looking for a job, because I have been none stop. And I have done some things here and there to support us. I’ve been very grateful for the fact that even though Maya doesnt have toys or a bed to lay on, and she did need a rutine check up there has no serious medical emergency. But there is now, for the past few days Maya has been bleeding heavily, at first I thought she was in heat but this isnt normal, she is bleeding three times more then she would if she were in heat. As of today she started vomiting and I am extremely worried about whats wrong with her. I live in Puerto Rico and there arent alot options for people who need help with their pets, you pretty much have to be able to pay the vet bill on the spot or you wont get help. I need to take her to a vet but I dont have a dime to my name at the moment. I am currently living on foodstamps, and a little help I recieve to pay my utility bill from my family. I already tried to ask my family for help with no luck. At this moment I can honestly say I am scared. I dont want to lose my baby nor do I want to turn her over please someone help me, doesnt have to be money, it can be advice, at ,least pointing me in the direction where get help.
