Campaign Story
My name is Liba and I would like to raise funds to cover my son´s therapy. He was diagnosed with ASD - autism spectrum disorder.
Matt turned 3 in May. His gross and fine motor skills as well as social functioning are at level of a 18-month old. He is completely non-verbal and has many other typical autistic traits.
No therapy for autistic children is covered by the insurance in our country (the Czech Republic). We do receive support from an Early on service (NGO) in terms of consultancy services. I am a solitary caregiver and I take care of two children. I am able to cover his one-on-one therapy (OTA at Centrum Terapie Autismu in Prague) - an hour a week. In addition I would love to sign my son up for more intensive group therapy from September 2016 (4-hour session a week, 2 to 4 children in a group). The original target amount (1,500€) covers 3 months of the group therapy.
I´m hoping the "magic" of the internet will help me with this goal and Matt will get the treatment he needs to expand his potential. He is showing slow but steady progress and every small step is celebrated. He does display some emotions, he likes to go to therapy and I can see his own improvement makes him happy.
Matt is a beautiful soul. He is very much loved and he deserves his chance to shine. The next couple of years are the most critical and I am dedicated to provide him with the best care & treatment possible. Even if you cannot donate, sharing this page can help!

Update posted by Libuse Foord at 03:43 pmMatt starts the group therapy (intensive O.T.A. therapy) in CTA Prague next Tuesday! I am so excited. I met with the main therapist Petra to go over the contract. We spoke about his traits and our goals. I certainly liked Petra, although I met her for the very first time.. . . . .
