Matildica vs. FIP

🇬🇧 This is Matilda's story

Matilda was a stray cat found on street in a critical condition.

What happend to her, nobody knows, but assumption is she got hit by a car.

This little kitten struggled with all its power in Kreszinger veterinary clinc with constant ups and downs, high fever, head trauma, streched limbs, etc.

Shortly before Christmas Matilda was better and came to Zadar to her forever home as the most beautiful gift ever.

But her problems unfortunately did not stop there.

Due to haeavy breathing she was taken to the vet where they discovered and extracted almost a liter of accumulated chest fluid.

Matilda wheights only 2 kilos and prognosis were not good.

We did not waste time, and the same night we transported Matilda to Kreszinger clinc in Sesvete, Zagreb, where she is currently hospitalised.

Everything si pointing to FIP, until reacently very deathly diagnosis for cats.

Today there is finally a cure, and lots of cats have been cured thanks to this experimental drug, analouge of nucleoside GS-441524:

This therapy must be given for 84 days.

The dose is determined by the type of FIP and weight of a cat.

One bottle costs 80 euros and it is estimated that Matilda will need at least 12 bottles, since she is growing.

With high veterinary cost we have to pay, any help in form of donation would help us alot.

We have a long struggle ahead of us, but she is a strong little fighter and we hope for the best.

🇭🇷 Ovo je priča o Matildi.

Matilda je maca u tipu sijamke pronadena na ulici, u teškom stanju. Kako se tamo našla i što se točno dogodilo ne znamo ali pretpostavljamo da je pretrpjela udarac autom. Ovaj mali mačić od samo nekoliko dg borio se svim snagama za život u veterinarskoj klinici Kreszinger s neprestanim usponima i padovima, visokom temperaturom, traumom glave, istegnutim udovima i nizom popratnih problema.

Malo prije Božića Matilda je “zakrpana” i došla je u Zadar u svoj zauvijek dom kao najljepši poklon.

Ali njezini problemi nažalost nisu tu stali.

Zbog teškog disanja odvedena je veterinaru gdje su otkrili i izvukli iz njezinog prsnog koša skoro litru tekućine koja se nakupila. Matilda ima samo 2 kg i prognoze su bile najcrnje.

Nismo gubili vrijeme i istu noć Matilda je opet prevežen u klinku Kreszinger u Sesvetama gdje trenutno boravi na stacionaru.

Sve upućuje na FIP - do nedavno dijagnoza koja je osuđivala mace na smrt .

Danas napokon postoji lijek i već puno maca je izliječeno zahvaljujući njemu.

Radi se o antivirusnom eksperimentalnom lijeku, analogu nukleozida GS-441524.

Terapija traje 84 dana.

Doza se određuje prema tipu FIP-a i kilaži, a jedna bočica košta 80€. Procjene su da će Matildi trebati 12 bočica te uz velike veterinarske troškove koje moramo podmiriti svaka pomoć u obliku donacije bila bi više nego dobrodošla.

Duga borba je pred nama ali ona je snažan mali borac i nadamo se najboljem te unaprijed zahvaljujemo za svaku i namanju pomoć.
