Marley’s Surgery

My dog Marley was out playing and jumped off the edge of the flower bed. This is not a very high jump but with snow on the ground I guess he underestimated the landing. He yelped & whined for awhile, but then she settled down & went to sleep. We carried him around the next day & he walked around a little but, was not putting any weight on his back left leg. I called the emergency vet & explained everything they said he would be ok as long as he was comfortable to wait till Monday morning to see our regular vet. So we went to the vet this morning. After x- rays, it shows that he has a bad fracture of his femur, right above his knee. We were told that he needs surgery from a specialist. The break is bad & he will have to have pins because it so close to the knee, there is not enough bone there to let it grow back to on its own. So, surgeon says $2300. This is not an option for my family right now however Marley is part of the family and we have to do something. I can't stand the thought of him being in any pain. He's such a great dog and has really been through so much before we adopted him 4 years ago from the shelter. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.
