If you are fortunate enough to know Julia and John Shumway, you may also know their daughter, Margot.
Margot is an amazing woman. Like all Olympians, Margot truly has dedicated her life to excellence. Margot will be one of the twelve USRowing crews representing this year's Olympic Games. She is also one of 15 multiple-time Olympians on the 44-person rowing roster after earning a spot in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Root for Margot in the Women’s Double Sculls.

Why support Margot?
Although some American Olympians receive sponsorship, rowers are typically NOT chosen for endorsement. Most of the athletes have no way to work when they are practicing 40+ hours a week and traveling to participate in regattas. If you'd like to make a donation, it will definitely assist with Margot's bills and living expenses.
Please join me in supporting Margot as she competes in London July 28 through August 4 and as she returns home to Westlake, Ohio mid-August.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- American Olympians are just weeks away from representing their country in London, but many will return home -- medals won or lost -- to face significant financial challenges. Unlike athletes in many other countries, American Olympians receive no direct support from the federal government.
