Marc’s 60th Gift – Kailash Manasarova – Yoga Trip to India

Greetings friends and family.

SUMMARY:

We are sending my dad, Marc Erasmus, to go and do Yoga with Sadhguru in Nepal and India around July/ August of 2023 in honor and celebration of his 60 interesting years on planet Earth.

I am so very grateful to have you here with me and, I hope that you can feel that.

I have invited you here because you are one of the chosen few that my father, Marc Erasmus, holds dearest to his heart.

As I have grown up knowing you all through him, I trust that what I am about to share means as much to you as you mean to him.

The story of this man's life is one that we all know through varying degrees of intimacy. It is one that we can all agree is a journey of great feeling that when given the moment will evoke in us deep laughter as well as true tears.

Although we undoubtedly have a unique experience of who this incredible being is and what it takes to do as it does, I have this to say.

I have watched a man smiling while serving, loving while hurting, giving while searching and teaching while learning.

A man whose unyielding sense of humor, optimism, creativity, commitment, positivity, love and tenacity in the face of adversity has been a constant source of awe and inspiration to anyone with the sense to perceive it.

A man who, through thick and thin has gone beyond the horizon to make for his kin the most striking comparison in what "early life" means, than what he was given.

In short, he's just a real Good Oke doing a real solid...

In truth I have more to say here than the time that I wish to have you spend reading.

So, now that we all know who I am talking about...

I cut to the chase and give you a motivation for why this of all things is the most valuable thing we can give to him.

In October of 2019 my father discovered a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

This light was shaped like a man known commonly as Sadhguru and the compassion with which he shares "the truth about yoga".

Although my dad has done yoga before in the past, his true journey with yoga began with a meditation process known as "Inner Engineering" and continued in February 2021 with a physical process known as Angamardana.

The combination of these two processes and the example that Sadhguru and other such spiritual leaders set, has instilled a sense of hope for a better future that seemed otherwise, at times, completely out of reach.

It is a hope that has begun to transform my father in mind, body and energy, aging him backwards, strengthening his grip on life and restoring a joy in the profound process of living that is more valuable than can be expressed by me, here right now.

Every year in this household that I have grown up in, our "birthday" would mark another journey around the sun and with it would come "something that will be valuable to you in your relationship with this next 12 month cycle".

Given that in the natural flow of life and energy, we understand value to be "in accordance with the times", it easily extends beyond physical possessions into the subjective subtleties of life changing experiences

Lately my father has been turning his focus more and more inward, forming a deeper and deeper relationship with the nature of his existence and naturally seeking out situations that favor this tendency.

My gift to him is reaching out to all of those who know and love him dearly and who want to play their part in giving what we have determined to be the VERY BEST thing for him and the dawn of his 60th summer (the age at which Indian culture grants a man the break from working to provide in order to go inward and pursue his true nature)

This once in a lifetime opportunity to join Sadhguru in Nepal for a 2 week yoga process, a pilgrimage to a specific location in the Himalayan mountains, designed to "wear you down so that you become more receptive to life". This pilgrimage, which he has already started preparing for is set to take place around the middle of next year, 2023.

This gift is something that I alone do not have the capacity to grant, but with with your help this experience can and will become a reality that means more to my father, Marc Erasmus, than anything else that we could think of.

It is the next step in his life process.

The cost of this process is R90 000 and a return flight to Nepal is about R15 000.

However, I personally feel that he needs a break from his desk that stretches beyond the 2 weeks of this Nepal trip.

So I have set a greater goal of R150 000, which would cover the yoga program as well as a trip to Sadhguru's Isha Yoga Center in South India where Marc can take some time to let go of his daily concerns and begin to embrace the experience of existence that he has been searching so tirelessly for, in an environment that has been specifically designed for such purposes.

Now, currently my father has NO IDEA that I am rallying forces to back his voyage, yet still he has his heart set on this, so, it will be an incredible surprise when I announce this collaboration to him on his 60th birthday, 30 October 2022 (it will bring tears to his eyes).

Registration for "Kailash Manasarova" will open at the end of December, giving me just under 2 months to collect all of the donations that you have to add to this collaboration.
