Campaign Story
In South Africa, the 18th of July marks International Mandela Day - a day where we celebrate the life of an extraordinary man who dedicated his life to freeing and serving people. On this day we are also challenged to make a difference in somebody’s life by performing 60 minutes of kind deeds and gestures. I am offering you a chance to change a whole host of people’s lives with just 60 seconds of your time. Just 60 seconds to donate your money, however big or little it may be to help Mama Maria run her orphanage in a settlement called Windmill Park in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Mama Maria saw a need in her neighbourhood and decided to do something about it. As a nurse, she has a lot of experience of working with people, but she is running her orphanage on her own dime, without any sponsorship. And even though we are working to change that, I thought it would be a wonderful idea if we could raise some funds for her and the 15 children she cares for in the meantime.
I hope this finds you well. It doesn’t take much to make a difference. I am hoping we will embrace the spirit of Tata Madiba this Mandela Day.
