Hi all,

Welcome to my 'Make A Difference' fundraising campaign. It's an effort to respond to causes that are close to my heart, one of the ways I'm using for my contribution to making a difference ~ knowing every little helps.

I remember a few days before Christmas last year looking at all our gifts all wrapped up under the Christmas tree, all lit up & my children so excited and doing the usual kids excited count down to opening their gifts. That same year, my younger son preferred not to buy paper cards for her classmates, but instead make a donation to charity and 'save the environment'. That struck a chord in my heart. I was yet to do my last minute Christmas festivities shopping and a thought hit me, about how it was possible that there were some orphaned or underprivileged children who may not be excited over Christmas as mine are because they have nothing to look forward to or even a decent meal to celebrate over. I wondered if they will even know its chistmas time at all. I made a commitments to myself to do I something to make a difference.

The second cause I would like to contribute to has to do with the provision of sanitary care to shcool girls. On average a girl in rural Africa ( & I'm sure other places too) misses school for 3-5days every month because of lack of decent sanitation during their menstrual cycle. Others suffer the shame of laughter and jeer when an accident happens while in school after they are let down by whatever means they try to use to go through this time of the month. Some use tree leaves, others use cotton wool, while some use old newspapers or pieces of cloth....etc. At other times these girlshave no choice but brave going to school despite because they don't want to miss school or an important examination. I believe we can all make a difference in our own seemly small way but making a huge impact.

The third cause I would like to contribute towards has to do with helping every woman from all walks of life discover their full God given potential and fulfill their destiny. I believe when you educate and empower a woman, you educate and empower a community, a nation & the world at large

So this year, I commited to running a 5km fundraiser. As I write this, I have only managed to go as far as 4km straight run. I shall post my 5km achievement in my facebook page.

I invite you to join me make a difference to these worthy charitable causes. Thank you in advance for your contribution, every little helps and your donation makes a difference. The journey of a mile was started by one little step. Your contribution will go a long long way......

God bless you
