Baseball Bio Name: Jared L. Archie Age: 20 Weight: 215 Bats: Right Throws: Right I was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Oklahoma City when I was a kid. As a kid I was introduced to T Ball at a young age and fell in love with this sport. While most boys on my team wanted to get out of the sun and go and get ice cream I wanted to stay and play baseball all day long. I longed to be the best and faster player on the team. So this brought forth a curiosity of sports but most importantly baseball.  So after trying out various sports in my childhood I decided to stick with my first love of baseball. I joined my middleschool baseball team where I played right field, and this is where I started to learn the fundamentals of this fascinating game.  And because I was so fascinated with this sport my mother noticed my discipline to baseball, and my continued drive to get better. So my mother pushed, and encouraged me to continue into my highschool years. During my time in high school l I worked in season, and out of season to get better and faster. My first year of high school I started out on the junior varsity team but well before the season was over I was moved  to the varsity team. This move gave me great encouragement to know that I can possibly take this into college. So I knew that I would have to work hard at my craft. I trained over the summers with various summer leagues but my most memorable training came from the Universityof Arizona in Tucson Arizona. I was being watched by various college coaches and there I received my scouting report of being D-1 potential.  By the time I completed my senior year of highschool my average was .312, and I was well on my way of finishing my highschool years as a successful baseball player and batted .340. My team reached the All-City Tournament where we came in 2nd place, and I was named one of the MVP’s for that championship game. My high school team went on to the regionals where we came in 4th place. These were exciting times and a great accomplishment for me. After my high school career I focused on college where I worked with Anton Shinhoster a former division 1 player for the Mississippi State University baseball team. Mr. Shinhoster was a great mentor and a coach. Also during the summer of 2012 I participated in an all wood adult bat league where I competed with either former or current major league baseball players. During this time I learned even more about the necessary skill of baseball and the mental discipline that it takes. In the 2012 I decided that I wanted to make a big move in my baseball career and transferred to a different college. I redshirted with my college and continued to train daily with my teammates. Moving forward I am still working and stronger.  And an amazing opportunity came about where I would have an opportunity to train with a stellar former major league baseball player. I will be training in the summer of 2013 in Houston, Texas under the tutelage of Bobby Tolan. Mr. Tolan is a former major leaguebaseball player who has an abundance of baseball skills and training. Mr. Bobby Tolan has been a part of some great baseball teams that have won World Series.  So my extensive training with Mr. Tolan and his team will consist of hitting, fielding, speed, agility, and a stronger mental capacity. So in part of my training with Mr. Tolan I am asking for assistance by way of donations. These donations will assist me in covering my cost for transportation, training, room and board. While I am training I will continue to keep everyone of you with me, and I thank you in advance for supporting me every step of the way. I will embrace this great opportunity and grow to my greatest potential  WHAT THE FUNDING WILL BE USED FOR: : Major League Baseball Training Fees : Air Fare : Hotel Fees : Speed/ Conditioning Fees : Baseball Equipment Fees : Car Fees : Meal Expenses
