:Lucas and Elliot’s baptism fundraiser

Our children will be baptised on 24th January. They are happy, loving and loved boys with everything they need. We discussed the idea of suggesting that people who planned to give them a gift for their christening perhaps divert the money to a cause.

Our local St Vincent de Paul society in Handforth and Wilmslow works right on our doorstep to make the lives of those who are suffering through poverty and disadvantage better and happier. Run entirely by volunteers, it has a really tiny budget (no more than a few thousand per year) so any donations will make a big difference.

The charity says: The concept of need is broader than financial hardship, so visiting the sick, the lonely, the addicted, the imprisoned and those suffering from disabilities form a large proportion of the Society's work. - See more at: http://svp.org.uk/WhatWeDo#sthash.yoW3LJc0.dpuf

We don't want anyone to feel obliged to do this (nor do we expect gifts!!) but we are making a donation ourselves to mark the occasion and wanted to give you the opportunity to do so as well. We'll print the funding page for Lucas and Elliot to see in the future.
