My story started about 9 months ago. My left eye was giving me trouble and I went to have my eyes checked. To make a long story short, steroids were given for my eye which on the 7th day no mission, I went to a cornea specialist in Ft. Worth. I was referred to UT Southwest to be put on a special machine that cost about $200 with insurance. I had Acanthamoeba Keratitis which began my journey for nearly a year. I had 2 emergency surgeries although I was going to the Ophthalmologist every week. The labs tell my doctor they have never seen an eye this bad. I was on 8 medications that were compound medications. One out of the country, 2 out of California. But, I'm so grateful for the disease not going into my good eye. That was the reason, we had done everything, now the eye had to be removed. God has watched over me and many people have sent prayers & encouragement. I will need an artificial eye but my insurance will not pay anything for it. Thank you for listening to my story and I appreciate anything to help me attain my new artificial eye. God bless and thank you again.
