London Project

My name is Karly Grace. I am 15 years old and a current sophomore. I heard about the London Theatre Trip through school and was completely ecstatic. I have wanted to go to another country since I was in third grade. I love the concept of an entire different place with a completely different social and economical system than the US. I have a particular fondness with the UK, having done about 3 reports on it through the years. I am also addicted to the theatre. I think its beautiful how actors tell a story through dance and powerful statements. I have also memorized at least 3 soundtracks. If I get enough money, I have a chance to go on a trip to London with my school. We get to travel to Stratford, Salisbury, Bath, Stonehenge, as well as London. We get to follow Shakespeare's footsteps, go to a theatre workshop, meet some of the actors ( :O) and do regular touristy stuff, such as the Tower of London and Changing of the Guard. When I heard about the trip, I was super excited and wanted to go but didn't tell my mom because I knew it would be a lot for our family. Then my mom found out on her own and decided that she would do anything so I had the chance to go. Being a single mom, she's already got a lot on her plate so I decided to get the funds myself. The trip cost $5,000 and I want to raise as much as I possibly can. But being a full time student, getting a traditional job is pretty hard, especially since I can't drive. So I am hoping that selling stuff on eBay and donations will cover it. The more, the better! In today's society, we need more kids getting out into the world and seeing what there is out there. To explore and not just follow as their parents did, but branch out. It is a really big world out there and I have only seen a small part of it. Help me see more!
