Kitchen Project

We are currently trying to raise the funds to refurbish and equip a kitchen in a local church hall in order to provide a nourishing meal 4 days a week for the 100 children who attend Location Kids.

The cost of the kitchen with food and gas for a year is estimated at just £4,000, which equates to approximately 18p per child per meal.

Why a kitchen?

Location Kids gives the children who attend our programme life chances and opportunities otherwise denied them. The main way we achieve this is to help them learn English through song, dance and drama. However, our ability to help the children is limited by their immediate social conditions. See more at www.locationkids.com

By providing a meal for them every day they attend the programme we hope to be able to provide them with conditions to simultaneously nourish their bodies and minds.

Another advantage of the kitchen is that families will only need to find food for an evening meal for their children 3 days a week, which will be much more achievable for them. Also the food provided will be highly nutritious.

How you can help

Please donate whatever you can manage, £1, £2, £5, £100, every little will help. For any donation you will recieve our thanks, but for donations of £10 or over you will receive a DVD of the children singing and a personal letter of thanks from one of our kids!

All of the volunteers working on this project receive no payments or wages for their help, so you can be certain that every penny you give will go directly to the children. For instance by giving £3 you will be providing a meal for a child for a whole month, such a small amount can make a world of difference to the lives of the children we help.
